SkyTrain
Expo/Millennium Lines will start half an hour earlier than usual for a Sunday – 6:38 a.m. from King George Station with rush-hour service levels, 6:45 a.m. from Lougheed Station in both directions, 7:20 a.m. from Waterfront Station.
Canada Line will operate on its usual schedule, and will also increase trains if necessary.
In order to reduce lineups at the Ticket Vending Machines after the run, portable fareboxes will be set up at King George, Burrard, and Bridgeport Stations, where customers may purchase their return fares ahead of time (tickets will be valid until 3:30 p.m.). Having exact fare will move lines quickly and reduce crowding.
Bus
Buses will have a number of re-routes in effect, taking the buses away from Georgia between Pender and Richards, the West End, Burrard Bridge and 2nd Avenue in Kitsilano. Buses that normally use Georgia will travel along Pender between Cardero and Richards. West Vancouver Blue Bus will have additional buses going to Vancouver before the race, to help runners get to the start. They will travel via Pender, Cambie, Georgia, Seymour and Pender back to Georgia and Lions Gate Bridge.
Cycling
Cyclists going to the Sun Run may make use of BEST’s Bicycle Valet, a free service provided by Best-Better Environmentally Sound Transportation. The lot, which can accommodate 100 bikes, is located on Level 2 of BC Place Stadium, with easy access from the Cambie Bridge bike lanes and Pacific Boulevard. From there, they can walk or take SkyTrain to the starting point. Also note, at busy times, transit staff may delay or restrict bicycles on trains.
